Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA)

The component of FEMA directly responsible for administering the flood insurance, flood hazard identification, and floodplain management aspects of the National Flood Insurance Program as well as a range of programs designed to reduce future losses to homes, businesses, schools, public buildings, and critical facilities due to natural disasters.
