Increased Cost of Compliance (ICC)

Claim under a standard flood insurance policy, available to flood insurance policyholders who need additional funding to rebuild after a flood. It provides up to $30,000 to help cover the increased cost of mitigation measures to bring a building into compliance with the latest state or local floodplain management ordinances. Acceptable mitigation measures are elevation, floodproofing, relocation, and demolition, or any combination of these measures. Note that ICC claims are only available for structures. FEMA 301, Increased Cost of Compliance Coverage, provides information for local floodplain management officials on how flood-damaged buildings insured under the National Flood Insurance Program will benefit from this coverage.
