Proxigean spring tide

Proxigean spring tides have even higher high tides and lower low tides than spring tides and perigean spring tides. They occur when a new or full moon coincides with the moon reaching its closest point of approach to Earth (its most extreme perigee of the year), typically once every 18 months. Sometimes referred to as “extreme high tides.”
