Zone X

Areas shown on a Flood Insurance Rate Map where the flood hazard is lesser than in the Special Flood Hazard Area. On recent Flood Insurance Rate Maps, shaded Zone X designates areas subject to inundation by the 500-year flood, and unshaded Zone X designates areas where the annual probability of flooding is less than 0.2 percent. Note that on older Flood Insurance Rate Maps, shaded Zone X corresponds to Zone B and unshaded Zone X corresponds to Zone C.
