Flood Mitigation Library Project Steering Committee

ReduceFloodRisk.org was developed by the ASFPM Flood Science Center in partnership with a project steering committee and a Spanish translation team.

Project Steering Committee

The project steering committee helped inform each phase of the project, from scoping through beta testing. Project steering committee members were selected based on their unique perspectives and mitigation knowledge. They included representatives from FEMA, US Army Corps of Engineers, state departments of emergency management, state departments of natural resources, state departments of agriculture, academia, and private consulting firms. The following FEMA offices were members of the committee: Office of the Flood Insurance Advocate, Floodplain Management, Flood Mitigation Assistance, Hazard Mitigation Assistance, Risk Management, and Building Sciences. Co-chairs and members of the ASFPM Flood Mitigation, Flood Insurance, and Nonstructural Flood Proofing committees were also represented.

Spanish Translation Team

The Spanish translation team translated all pages of ReduceFloodRisk.org into Mexican Spanish. A core team (noted with asterisk below) completed the initial translation while a larger team was engaged to complete a quality assurance check of the translation. The larger team consisted of members of the ASFPM international committee and the ASFPM non-structural committee.
