Flood Hazard Boundary Map (FHBM)

Initial official map of a community published by FEMA that delineates the approximate floodplain boundaries, which is usually eventually superseded by a Flood Insurance Rate Map. The boundaries of the flood and/or mudslide related to erosion areas having special hazards are designated as Zones A, M, and/or E on this type of map.
